It is not a challenging task to get a Driving License in Bangalore. Karnataka Transport Department has been continuously coming up with methods which are more convenient of the residents of the city. You can apply for a Learner's License, Permanent License, renew your already existing license through the online portal. The authority of issuing DL to the common people is given to the Bangalore Transport Department.

Visit Official website of Karnataka Transport Department or visit the Sarathi website and select Karnataka as your state and download the application form for applying for LL from the website.
Submit the filled out application form in the nearest RTO along with the necessary documents such as ID proof, address proof, and passport size photographs.
You can book a slot online for the driving test before even visiting the RTO.
Visit the RTO with the photocopy and the original document before visiting the RTO.
An RTO Official will be verifying the documents.
Only after your documents have been verified, you will be allowed to give the computer-based written test.
The LL written test that is taken in Bangalore has a total of 20 questions linked with the rules and regulations of the traffic.
After you have finished your test, the results will be announced right away.
If you pass the test, you will be receiving the LL card at your registered address and if you fail the LL test, then you can give the test again after a week.
It must be noted that no one can apply for a DL without holding an LL.

To acquire an international driving license in Bangalore, you can follow the steps described below:
To procure an IDP or International Driving Permit the applicant must submit a filled IDP where they acquired their DL.
Along with IDP, the applicant will be required to produce necessary documents and recent passport size photographs.
A nominal fee of 1000 rupees also must be paid by the applicant while submitting the IDP form.
The application is approved and verified by the RTO and the IDP is sent to the registered address.
Your DL is generally valid for 20 years across the country from the date of issue until an individual turns 50. But if the license acquired is for transport or any other commercial vehicles then it has to be renewed every three years.
