Are you one of those people who applied for the driving licence but doesn’t know the status of the application? Are you waiting to get a copy of your Driving licence? Getting a driving licence can become a time-consuming process if done manually or offline. This can be especially frustrating if you have a brand new two-wheeler or car waiting for you at home!
Instead of waiting for the Driving licence to arrive via post, you can visit your respective Regional Transport Office(RTO) with the token number to check the status of your driving licence. You can also visit the Sarathi website by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
Visit the official website of the transport department of your respective state.
Please note that the website varies from state to state. Make sure you visit the right website which is linked to the transport department of your state.
You will find the link to “Check the status of your Driving Licence” on the main page.
Select the link.
Now enter your Driving licence number, date of birth and the name of your state to find the information.
Alternatively, you may also visit the Sarathi website which was launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to check the status of your driving licence online.
After opening the Sarathi website, on your left-hand side, you will discover an option named, “Status of Licence” under the “National Register(Driving licence) Queries."
After you choose “Status of Licence,” you'll be demanded to enter your date of birth, Driving licence number, and the name of your state.
Enter the necessary information and click on “Submit.”
You will be able to see your driving licence status on the next page.
Note that the RTO sends your driving licence through post approximately after two weeks from the time that you have passed your Driving licence test. Therefore, checking the status of your Indian driving licence online every day is not desirable. It usually takes a month for you to get the Driving licence delivered to the applicant. Ensure that you have someone at home with a valid ID proof to receive the Driving Licence on your behalf if you aren't physically present in the mentioned address.
Registration Certificate is a legal document which is issued to the person who registers for a motor vehicle. It serves as proof that the vehicle belongs to a person. In India, it is obligatory to register your vehicle. If you are found driving on the road without a legitimate RC, it is a criminal offense which can attract imprisonment or fine or both. You will just be required to visit the official website, parivahan.gov.in to know the status of your RC. Follow the below-mentioned steps to check your RC status:

Below the “Online Services” tab, you will see an option named “Know your vehicle details.”
You will be redirected to a new page in which you can check your RC status.
On the new page, you will be required to enter your vehicle registration number.
You must enter the full registration number and then click on “Submit.”
Your RC status will be shown on the screen.
Many people who apply for a driving licence don't know whether their application has been accepted or not until they get a hard copy of the Driving licence in their registered residential address. If you want to check your driving licence status using your name through online mode, you can follow these steps to do so:
Visit the official website Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
You will be required to enter your application number. After submitting your Driving licence application request, an officer will be issuing you the Application Number.
Choose the state in which you reside from the menu or where you have applied for the Driving licence from the drop-down menu.
Choose the name of the RTO from the drop-down menu.
Click on Submit.
Details such as your name and the status of your Driving licence will be shown on the webpage.

Enter your Vehicle Number.
Enter the Verification Code (aka, Captcha).
Click on the link, ‘Search Vehicle to Know Your Vehicle Registration Status.’
When an individual applies for a new driving licence or sends an application to renew his/her old Driving licence, he/she wishes to know the status of Driving licence after applying. Under “Driving Licence,” in the left side, expand the options available under the “Apply Online” tab.
Select the “Application Status” from the options.
After choosing the Application Status”, you will be required to enter the Application Number and your birth date, and then click on “Submit.”
After submitting the information, you will be able to see the status of your driving licence application on the webpage.
It usually takes a month for driving licence to be delivered to you from the time when you applied for it.

You must apply for a Learner's licence before applying for a Driving licence. if you don't own a Learner's licence, you won't be allowed to get a Driver's licence irrespective of your age and driving skills.
