The Election Commission of India issues Voter ID cards to Indian citizens. It acts as an identity proof while casting votes in Elections. The voter ID card serves as a general identity proof, age proof and address proof. Earlier, the voter Id card was issued in monochrome, but these days it has a colorful variant too. It contains the name, address, date of birth and photograph of the individual. Any citizen above the age of 18 is eligible for obtaining the voter ID card.
The ECI issued colored voter ID card to rectify the mistakes of the old voter ID. Colored voter ID card is issued to the voters who have applied for a new voter ID card. For card owners who wish to replace their black and white voter ID can do so by paying a nominal fee of 30 rupees at the registration center of their district.

Upload your photograph
Submit the details
The verification code is sent to the mobile number mentioned in the application
Enter the code in the specified box
You will be now receiving updates on the status of your voter ID card through SMS
Voter ID card is sent to your house in 45-60 days
You can also apply for color voter ID through eSeva offices. You'll be required to pay 30 rupees to get a new color ID card
