Getting a Voter ID Card can be very time-consuming. However, someone might wish to take their names out of the electoral roll. Some of the reasons why people choose to take their names off the electoral list are either because the voter has passed away or they aren't citizens of the country anymore.
Voter Registration cancellation is gaining popularity these days to make people aware of its importance. Some of the reasons why people cancel their voter registration are as follows:
Death of the voter.
If the voter moves to another city or country.
Not canceling your name from the electoral roll can lead to bogus voting and other social electoral evils.
If the voter is a citizen of another country.
In case of duplication where the voter has two Voter ID Cards in his/her name.
if you want to cancel your name from the electoral list, you will have to submit a duly filed Voter ID Form 7.
Form 7 can be downloaded online form the CEO's official website, or you can visit the nearest Electoral Registration Office and collect the form in person.

You will be required to enter the name of the Electoral Registration Officer.
You will be given three options in the form.
The first option is to oppose the inclusion of an individual in the electoral roll; the second option is to delete a person’s name from the electoral roll permanently and the third option is to remove your name from the list.
Choose the applicable option and click on ‘proceed’.
You will be required to enter the particulars of the applicant that you wish to delete from the list in the next step.
You will be required to fill in the following details: Applicant’s name, Surname, Part Number, Serial Number, and EPIC Number.
In the next section, you will be required to describe the reason why you are requesting for the removal of your name from the electoral roll.
Submit the applicant's signature to the Electoral Registration Officer.
You can apply online or send it to the electoral office through post.
If your name is present in the electoral roll, and you do not exercise your right to vote, it will lead to malpractice and fraudulent voting that can change the fate of politics in India. If you are not an active voter in Indian elections, it is your responsibility to get your name removed from the voters' list. For promoting fairness in politics in India, check the voters' list right away and delete your name if you have to.
