In case of any queries related to the passport, one can contact the Passport Call Centre. One can also look for solutions by visiting the Government of India’s official passport website or go to the nearest Passport Seva Kendra office with the query.
The application status can be tracked by contacting the Passport Call Centre and entering the file number into the IVR system or by directly communicating with a Passport Call Centre executive.
However, one cannot file a complaint about a lost passport through the Passport Call Centre. In such a scenario, one must first contact the nearest Police Station and file a report, then notify the Passport Office about the same. Individuals who have lost their passport outside India must inform the Indian Mission in the concerned country.
One must know that a Passport Call Centre executive cannot apply for a passport on someone's behalf. All applications must be initiated by self.
While tracking the passport status, the information required is the File Number and the Birth Date of the applicant.
A Passport Call Centre executive can help locate the nearest Passport Seva Kendra. Moreover, the same can be done online, using the official website of Passport Seva.
One may also report a grievance by contacting the Passport Call Centre. The same can be done at the PSKs as well as on the Government of India’s passport website.
It is, however, not possible to reply to a show-cause notice by contacting the Passport Call Centre. Such notices require a response in written or typed format which must be sent to the concerned authority by post or submitted in person.
