One of the most significant documents that every Indian need to possess is the Indian passport. The Government of India issues this official document; it certifies the individual’s citizenship and identity. It also allows people to travel around the globe under the protection of the country. Indian passports contain information such as the name, age, address, photograph, the signature of the passport holder along with other information that serves as proof of their identity.
Procuring an Indian passport is a simple procedure. Any citizen of India can easily get a passport by either visiting one of the Passport Seva Kendras across the country or by logging in to the official website of Passport Seva and applying there. Once the applicants submit the necessary forms along with the supporting documents, they are called in at the PSK for an interview in which all the details provided are verified. Once the verification and the other necessary processes are complete, the applicants receive their passport via post.
In some instances, passport holders might need to change or modify the details in the passport after acquiring it. Read on to know about the procedure that applicants must adhere to if they want to change the details regarding their appearance in their passport.

Applicants must first procure Form No.2 which is intended for miscellaneous services. It is available in the Passport Seva Kendra Offices or on the official website. The form must be filled up.
For applicants who are filling the form online, they must select ‘Reissue of Passport’ in the ‘Service desired’ section. Following this, they must select ‘Change in Existing Personal’ and then choose the relevant option.
After completing this, applicants must provide the necessary documents while submitting the completed form.
Applicants must then schedule an appointment at the Passport Office. On the day of the appointment, applicants have to submit their documents in original along with a copy of the form and the same will then be verified.
Another crucial document that applicants are required to submit during this procedure is an authority letter as Annexure I.
Once the verification is done and the application is approved, the applicant will receive the re-issued passport with requested changes.
