Linking Aadhar Card with Mobile

As an order passed by the Supreme Court of India, the Government of India has mandated all the residents to link aadhaar with mobile number. This step was taken to curb all the connections which are issued based on fake documentation. Re-verification of aadhar with mobile is free of cost and can be done with either of these methods:

1. Aadhar Linking with Mobile Number via IVR

   The customers whose mobile numbes are already linked with aadhar can use this method, so customers can first register their mobile with aadhar either by making an aadhar update online or by visiting the nearby enrolment centre. After getting your mobile number registered on aadhar, here are the steps to link aadhaar with mobile number via IVR.

   1. Call 14546 from the mobile number.
   2. Choose the option among Indian and NRI as asked by the IVR (Interactive Voice Response)  system and click on ‘1’ if you are an Indian.
   3. Then enter your 12 digits aadhar number and confirm it by pressing ‘1’ after IVR system will repeat the last four digits of your aadhar number to verify.
   4. The IVR will ask about the registered mobile number on which an OTP will be sent by UIDAI.
   5. Authorize your operator to get information such as name,date of birth and photo from UIDAI by providing your consent.
   6. If the details of the number are correct, then enter the OTP which you had received before.
   7. Click ‘1’ for the completion of the procedure.

2. Aadhaar Linking with Mobile Number by Visiting the Nearby Telecom Operator/Retail Store:

   If your mobile number is not linked with aadhar card, then visiting the nearby retailer or SIM card operator is another option to get it linked in just a few simple steps:

   1. Visit the nearby telecom operator or retailer  store of your SIM card and carry a self-attested copy of aadhar with you.
   2. Provide the mobile number which you want to link with aadhar card to the operator.
   3. An OTP will be sent to that mobile number which you have to submit to the store executive for verification purpose.
   4. After which the store executive will ask for your fingerprints.
   5. After the biometric verification, an SMS will be sent to your mobile number.
   6. Send a reply with ‘Y’ to complete the e-KYC process.

3. Aadhar Linking with Mobile Number via OTP method:

   1. Visit the telecom subscriber’s portal and enter the mobile number you want to link.
   2. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.
   3. Enter the details of OTP and press the ‘Submit’ button.
   4. Enter the 12 digits aadhar number with which your mobile number has to be linked.
   5. Provide your consent to the mobile operator for access to information from  UIDAI.
   6. A request will be sent to UIDAI for OTP by the telecom operator.
   7. A consent message will be sent by UIDAI about e-KYC. Check the details.
   8. If the details are correct, accept all the terms and conditions and enter OTP.
   9. You will receive a confirmation about aadhar and phone number linking.
