Link Airtel Mobile Number to Aadhar Card

As per the government initiative, it is mandatory to link aadhar with mobile number in order to verify KYC (Know your customer) details. However as per the process, earlier it was required that a mobile subscriber should visit the nearby retailer store or telecom service provider’s store with aadhar card to verify the biometrics data to update KYC for the registered mobile number. Now the process of linking mobile number with aadhar card can be done while sitting at home as well via online and IVR method. If the Airtel subscriber’s mobile number is not registered with aadhar then he/she needs to visit the nearby retailer.

Subscribers who belong to any of the three categories mentioned below can verify through Web or app:

1. Non-resident Indian: Those who don't have aadhar card or the mobile number is not registered with UIDAI.
2. Senior Citizens: who are 70 years of age or above as on 1st January 2018 and facing any of the below-mentioned situations:
   1. Don’t have aadhar
   2. The mobile number is not registered with aadhar
   3. Have aadhaar but they unable to do biometric verification
3. Physically Challenged: Any person who comes under this condition is eligible for completing the process online.

Alternatively, IVR method can also be used.

Airtel Aadhar Link via IVR method:

1. Dial toll-free number 14546 from your mobile.
2. Then under the aadhar act, 2016 IVR will play a message where your consent will be asked for verification through UIDAI.
3. After you will provide the consent, your mobile number will be sent to UIDAI to check whether the mobile number is registered with UIDAI or not. If it would be registered, an OTP will be sent on it.
4. Again your consent will be asked by the telecom service provider to access your personal details like date of birth, address from UIDAI for verification and entering the OTP will be considered as a signature of authentication.
5. The details will be fetched from UIDAI and you will be given an option of verifying any other alternative numbers.
6. After the completion of the process, a message confirming successful verification will be played.
7. Before overwriting or updating your details, another confirmation message will be sent to you by the telecom service provider displaying your details. If you don’t respond within three days, the verification will be considered positive.

How to Link Aadhar with Airtel Number Online?

1. Visit the Airtel website
2. Choose one of the three categories to proceed.
3. Enter the mobile number to receive OTP.
4. Declare the required information and upload all supporting documents.
5. Provide the transaction ID (generated for 48 hrs) to the trusted person whose aadhar number is registered with the mobile number and get it verified.
6. Once the trusted person will complete the process, you will receive confirmation on verification status within 96 hrs via SMS.

Note: You can use more than one trusted person, but for verifying one mobile number only.
