Aadhaar Card contains a 12 digit unique identification number for all Indians. It has records of biometric and demographic information of the cardholder. The aadhaar project is handled by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) in India.
Download your aadhaar card online by visiting the following link - https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/. The aadhaar card will be downloaded in a PDF file, which is protected by a pin or a password. The password to this e-aadhaar PDF file consists of 8 characters. This eight-character password is a combination of the first four letters of your name (as mentioned on your aadhaar card) written in CAPITAL letters and your year of birth (in YYYY format). Let's discuss it with an example.
If your name is REENA SHARMA and your year of birth is 1986, then your e-aadhaar password REEN1986
UIDAI keeps your e-aadhaar file password-protected because PDF is considered as a safe digital file format, and if it is protected by a password, the security cover of the file increases.
Go to the official website of UIDAI.
In the ‘Personal Details’ section of the Aadhaar website, select the relevant option amongst these two - ‘Enrolment ID’/‘Aadhaar.’ Enrolment ID can be traced from the acknowledgment slip received while registering for Aadhaar. You can just select ‘aadhaar’ if you have the details of your aadhaar number and looking to download a duplicate aadhaar.
If you choose ‘Enrolment ID,’ enter your 14 digit enrolment number with a date stamp in the first row. However, if you choose ‘Aadhaar,’ you will have to enter your 12 digit aadhaar number.
Enter your full name as mentioned on your aadhaar.
In the next step, enter the pin code of your postal address that you have mentioned while registering for aadhaar.
Enter your registered mobile number and the captcha code as displayed on the page.
Click on ‘Get One Time Password’ tab. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
Enter the OTP details and click on the 'Validate and Download' option.
A PDF file will be there for you to download, which is your e-aadhaar.
Nowadays, there is an easy-to-use software (APR2) for Aadhaar Operators to recover the e-Aadhaar password and download the soft copy of aadhaar. The software easily finds out the pin/password as it has a list of all pin/passwords recorded. Finding password of the pdf file is not at all time-taking. Here are the steps of installing the software:
Download the software.
Extract the zip file in the folder.
Run the setup.exe file.
Open the software APR2 and click on the ‘Help’ menu.
Click on 'User login' and enter the username and password.
Click on the ‘validate’ option, after which, a new window will open showing your license.
Run the software by opening it first, and after that, by clicking on the ‘file’ option.
