As your banking transactions are secured by passwords, you may sometimes need to reset the login and transaction passwords. Therefore, let's look at different ways in which you can reset your SBI net banking password.
The SBI Online Banking Profile Password adds a layer of security to your SBI accounts. To access any function in your profile tab, you will have to authenticate yourself with your profile password. When you register for the SBI net banking facility, you will have to set your login password and ensure that you keep it safe. Nevertheless, in case you ever forget your net banking password, here's a way to reset it.
Visit the SBI net banking portal.
Next, go to the ‘Login’ page and select 'Forgot Login Password'.
You will be directed to a drop-down menu, where you need to select 'Forgot My Login Password' and click on 'Next'.
Next, enter all your bank details, such as your username, SBI bank account number, date of birth, registered mobile number, and country.
Note: Fill in all your details carefully, as it may pose a problem if all the information does not match with the details available in the SBI database. In case you make an error, you will not be able to proceed further to change your password.
After the submission of all your details, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number.
Enter and submit the OTP.
You will see a new drop-down menu with options to change your login password. Select 'Change login password using profile password'.
Next, provide your profile password and enter a new password of your choice. Retype to confirm it.
You have successfully reset your login password.
With the increasing number of cyber-attacks, the SBI net banking system may ask you to change the password after specific periods of time, so as to keep your account safe.
Besides, if you enter the wrong password more than thrice consecutively, your account will be blocked. You would then have to reset your login password to regain access.
Also, if you have recently accessed your SBI net banking through a public Wi-Fi network, then it is always advisable that you change your SBI net banking login password at the earliest.
Moreover, it is generally recommended that you change your SBI net banking password at regular intervals to avoid any fraudulent activities. So stay safe, and happy banking!
