SBI offers internet banking facility, which enables customers to access their account and make several kinds of banking transactions online. After you subscribe to SBI Net Banking, the bank will issue an Internet Banking Kit or a Welcome Kit. The Welcome Kit contains the username and password as well as the kit number, which will come in handy during logging in for the first time. All the details in the welcome kit can be used to access and set up the SBI Net Banking facility for the first time, and also for other purposes in future.
The steps mentioned below can guide you in activating you SBI Net Banking Account through the welcome kit:
Visit the SBI website - www.onlinesbi.com, and then click on the 'Login' button in the 'Personal Login' section.
In the next page, proceed further by clicking on 'Continue To Login' at the bottom of the page.
Fill up the 'username' field and the 'password' field from the details mentioned in the internet banking kit and then click on the 'Login' button.
Once you are logged in, the SBI portal will ask you to enter a username and password of your choice in SBI's Internet Banking.
Choose your user ID and assign a password to your net banking account, and you’re set!
SBI allows usernames and passwords to be a maximum of 20 characters each, and they are case sensitive. While passwords can be changed whenever you want, the username can only be changed once during the first login. As per your choice, the username can be a combination of alphabets and numbers.
After you have typed the username in the given field, then you can click on the 'Check Username Availability' link to check if your desired username is available or not.
While changing the username, you would also be required to enter your kit number.
Enter the kit number and select the 'I accept the Terms and Conditions' option at the bottom of the form and then click on the 'Submit' button to proceed further.
For the next step, enter the desired password for your account.
Enter the 'New Login Password' in the given field and enter the same password again in the 'Confirm Login Password' field; then click on 'Confirm.'
After this step, you will have to answer a set of hint question with its corresponding answer.
Lastly, enter your date of birth in the'01/Jan/1990' format and finally click on 'Submit.'
In the end, the portal displays the message "Your profile password has been set successfully" along with the date and time of submission.
Finally, log out from the account by clicking on the 'Logout' button.
Note:
SBI allows a password to be of 8-20 characters with a combination of digits, alphabets, and special characters. The password should contain at least one alphabet, at least one number, and one unique character (@, !, %, $, &, *, etc.)
