If you want to update any of your contact details, such as mobile number, email ID, and address, to your SBI Account, SBI provides certain provisions to do so. Here's how you can update your contact information.
There are many benefits that come with linking your mobile number to your SBI bank account. You can easily change your internet banking account password or regenerate a forgotten password. You will receive information on all functions carried out in your bank account, and you can also receive important bank notices.
Visit the SBI Internet banking portal.
Go to 'Profile->Personal Details->Change mobile Number' under 'My Accounts’, which appears on the left panel of the screen.
Now, select the Account number, enter the Mobile number, and click on 'Submit.'
You can see the last two digits of the registered mobile number displayed on the screen.
You have successfully updated your mobile number.
Visit your nearest SBI Branch.
Fill in and submit a letter of request.
After the verification, your mobile number will be linked to the branch.
After linking, you will receive an SMS, on your registered mobile number, that the mobile number has been updated.
Visit the nearest ATM.
Select 'Registration'->'Mobile Number Registration'->'Change Mobile Number.'
Enter and confirm your old mobile number.
Now, enter and confirm the new mobile number.
Both the new and old mobile numbers will receive a message to send the OTP and reference number received in the SMS. The format to send the message: ACTIVATE (IOTP VALUE) + (REF NUMBER) TO 567676 within 4 hours.
Your mobile number will be updated.
Log in to your Internet banking account.
Under 'My Accounts’, go to 'Profile->Personal Details->Change Email ID'.
Select the account number, enter the email ID, and click on 'Submit.'
You can either self-approve by entering the OTP sent on your registered mobile number, or you can opt for branch approval.
The status will be sent to you on your updated email ID.
Visit the nearest SBI Branch.
Fill in and submit a letter of request.
After verification, the branch updates the email ID.
You will receive a message on your updated email ID regarding the status of updation.
As per the KYC guidelines set by the Reserve Bank of India, cardholders must submit their KYC documents in case there is a change in their current residential address on the card account. You must submit a self-attested document of proof for the current/permanent residential address.
Here is the list of the documents that are accepted for current/permanent residence address proof. You can submit any one of the following documents as your address proof:
Passport
Driving Licence (both sides)
Voter's Identity Card (both sides)
Aadhaar Card/Virtual ID
Address proof issued by State/Central Government
NREGA issued job card duly signed by a State Government officer
Letter issued by National Population Register containing the name and address details
Utility bills (electricity, telephone, postpaid mobile phone, piped gas, water bill) not more than two months old, of any service provider.
Property/Municipal Tax receipt
Documents from departments or public sector undertakings, if they have the address on them
Pension/family pension payment orders (PPOs) issued to retired employees by the Government.
Letter of accommodation allotment from an employer, that is issued by any State/Central Government departments, statutory/regulatory bodies, scheduled commercial banks, financial institutions, public sector undertakings, or listed companies.
Points to remember
Documents must be valid on the current date.
Documents must be self-attested.
Mention your registered mobile number/registered email id either on the KYC documents or in the email body.
Driving licences issued in states where it is mentioned that the document cannot be used as address proof will not be considered as address proof.
You must send the requisite KYC documents for your current/permanent residence address as proof through any of the following modes:
Website: Login to sbi card online and update a scanned copy of your current/permanent residence address instantly.
SBI Card Mobile App: You can use the SBI Card Mobile App to update your current/permanent residence address.
E-mail: You can email the document/s from your registered email id and attach a copy of the self-attested KYC document at [email protected]
Courier: Enclose your current/permanent residence address proof and send it along with the declaration form to the address given below:
