The price of domestic LPG cylinders has been increased after the implementation of GST post the implementation of the GST regime.
Under the new GST regime, the taxes are classified under four tax slabs into 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%. All the domestic gas cylinders come under the 5% tax bracket. The implementation of 5% taxes on the gas cylinders has increased the price of cooking gas throughout the country.
An increase of Rs.32 per LPG cylinder will be experienced by the Indane LPG Cylinder users.
This is the highest increase in the domestic gas prices since 2011.
After exhausting 12 subsidized LPG cylinders in a year, each LPG cylinder will be charged under the 18% tax bracket.
The services provided by Indane Gas associated with issuing, maintaining, and inspecting gas cylinders have increased since such services fall under the 18% tax bracket under the GST regime.
An increase of 12-15 rupees will be expected on the LPG Gas Prices under the GST regime for the states who were not charging any taxes to the consumers.
