Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG or DBTL was introduced by the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas to facilitate the smooth transfer of subsidies to the account of the beneficiary's account. This scheme was introduced in regions where maximum people have enrolled with Aadhar. DBTL, also known as Pratyaksh Hanstantrit Labh (PAHAL) scheme would ensure that the subsidy is provided to the Aadhaar linked bank accounts of the customers. These customers also receive an advance on their account when they book their first subsidized gas cylinder. These subsidies are available for twelve cylinders for a year. Some modified schemes also allow customers who haven't registered with Aadhaar to receive this subsidy. According to a recent government ruling, families with an income of more than Rs. 10 lakhs per year won't be eligible to receive gas subsidies.
The customers can receive the subsidy in their bank accounts through two methods. If a customer joins the scheme, they are known as Cash Transfer Complaint. These options are -
Aadhar Number is the only medium of transfer. The Aadhar Number must be linked with the person's bank account and subsequently their LPG Consumer Number so that the consumer can avail the benefits of the subsidy. Consumers can link their Aadhar Number to their LPG Consumer Number through their bank accounts or by simply visiting the official website of LPG.
If the consumer doesn't have an Aadhar number, then they can link their consumer number with their bank account by providing the account information to the LPG Distributor so that the subsidy amount is transferred to the bank account.
