Objective of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme

This scheme aims to provide clean cooking fuel to the women who are below poverty line and generally use firewood or coal as a cooking fuel.

Through this Ujjwala Yojana scheme, the government hopes to provide Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) connection to over five crore women who are part of families that are below poverty line.

Some of the primary objectives of the PMUY Scheme are:

• Curbing health issues due to unclean cooking fuel
• Reducing casualties that occur due to unclean fuel
• Preventing environmental degradation

How to Apply for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme

Individuals who meet the eligibility criteria will be required to provide all necessary documents to apply for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Scheme

• First, they need to procure the form
• Fill the form with details like age, gender, name, bank account details, aadhar number, etc
• the documents claimed must be attached to the application form
• The applicant is required to mention the type of cylinder they wish to purchase
• After filling up the application, the applicant can submit it to the nearest LPG outlet.

What is the eligibility criteria for PMUY Scheme?

• Applicant must be a woman
• Applicant must be above the age of 18
• Applicant must be a citizen of India
• Applicant should belong to Below Poverty Line Household
• No one in the applicant's household should own an LPG Gas Connection
• Applicant must not be the recipient of any similar government scheme
