Lohri: This is the name for Makar Sankranti in North India. It marks the completion of the cold winter and the onset of warmer days. Lohri is celebrated with a bonfire, music, and food.
National Kite Festival: National Kite Festival marks the arrival of the harvest season. It is commonly celebrated in Gujarat. Kites fill up the entire horizon and many kite-flying competitions are organized.
Kerala Village Fair: Kerala Village Fair is celebrated usually in the month of January. People celebrate the festival with great enthusiasm. The festival represents an entire village of Kerala, in its traditional colors.
Guru Ravidas Birthday: The Birthday Anniversary of Guru Ravidas is a popular festival celebrated in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. It is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of 'Magh.'
Republic Day: Republic Day is a national holiday, celebrated on 26 January every year. The festival honors the date when the Indian constitution came into effect in the year 1950.
