About Andhra Pradesh
The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh is situated in the southeastern part of the country. It used to be the largest state in South India before its partition in 2014 when a significant part of Andhra Pradesh was carved out and given the recognition of the new state called Telangana. The de jure capital of the state is Hyderabad which is territorially situated within Telangana. The de facto capital of Andhra Pradesh is Amravati, which being gradually developed. The state lies on the eastern coastline of India, overlooking the Bay of Bengal. Nearly 50 million people live in this state and Telugu is the official language.

Popular Festivals/Holidays in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh celebrates Ugadi with much pomp shows as the festival marks the Telugu New Year. Sankranti is grandly celebrated in the month of January. Other major Indian festivals such as Vinayaka Chaturthi, Dussehra, Diwali, and Holi are widely celebrated in the state.
