The state of Haryana is located in the northern part of India. The state shares its capital city, Chandigarh, with the neighboring state of Punjab. Haryana celebrates all the major Indian festivals such a Holi, Diwali and Dussehra. Baisakhi and Lohri are widely celebrated in the state, reflecting its culture and traditions. The Kurukshetra festival is celebrated in the month of December at the mythological site of the epic battle of Kurukshetra. The festive spirit of the entire state reflects in the Haryana festival which is celebrated on 1 st November, marking the formation of the state.
