FAQ:
Q1. While switching to a new job, will my PF account be automatically merged or will I continue with my old PF account?
You are required to transfer your old account (with your previous employer) to a new one. The current employer will provide a new PF account number to you, in which the funds can be transferred from the previous account. You can use the EPFO portal for this process. Nowadays, providing the UAN that you have received from the previous company to the current employer is enough to initiate the fund transfer as the UAN links all PF accounts.
Q2. As an employee, can I upload my KYC documents using the EPFO's Member Portal?
Yes, you can upload the documents, but the employer should attest them through digital signature. Once that is done, your documents will become valid for uploading on the EPFO member portal. Till the attestation process is not complete, your KYC status will be displayed as "Pending."
Q3. What to do with my old PF account if I change my job?
Since the introduction of the UAN system, the processes of EPF accounts have become far more relaxed. Now, you just need to tell your UAN to the present employer. The UAN will get linked with all your PF accounts, and it will be maintained at a single place.
