The RD schemes of Dena Bank help its customers to save on a regular basis. The scheme works well in inculcating the habit of saving in youngsters and salaried people. The customers can contribute a fixed amount each month and receive the principal amount along with interest on maturity. You can also get an insurance cover on your recurring deposits at low premiums. The legal heir or the nominee can receive the deposited sum along with interest in case the depositor has deceased.
A minimum of 50 rupees must be deposited each month to open a Dena Bank RD account. Any higher deposits have to be made in multiples of 5.
The depositor is eligible to receive a loan of an amount up to three times of the amount to be received during maturity. The maximum loan that can be gained from a Dena Bank Recurring Deposit account is 75,000. Upon maturity, the loan can be availed to purchase consumer durables or any other form of emergencies.
A minimum deposit amount has not been specified by Dena Bank. The lowest tenure ranges from 6-9 months which attracts an interest rate of 6.35% for deposits amounting to less than a crore. The same interest rate is applicable on deposits amounting to more than one crore as well.
For deposits worth less than a crore and tenure ranging from 221-364 days, an interest rate of 6.5% per annum is applicable. Deposits amounting to greater than a crore also attract an interest rate of 6.5%
A Senior Citizen RD account holder can earn an interest rate of 0.5% per annum on their deposits. NRI accounts are exempted from this benefit.
